Another Matrix Horse and Rider Off to World Breeding Championships
in Germany
The Matrix horse and rider pair of Jennifer Hoffmann and Rubinio have qualified
to compete in the 2008 World Breeding Championships, scheduled to be held July
30 to August 3 in Verden, Germany.
Rubinio is a five-year-old Westphalian stallion. He and Jennifer qualified
for the world championships while competing in Europe at the National Dressage
Show in Greven. The pair beat out a field of 20 horses, winning with a score
of 8.2. Their winning score was well ahead of the second-place score of 7.3.
Jennifer's husband, Jürgen said the judges' overall comment on Rubinio
was "very talented dressage horse on the correct way in his training." He
said Jennifer was thrilled with her win considering that she has only been
in Germany with Rubinio since July 11.
Jennifer and Rubinio will now join fellow Matrix team members Willy Arts and
Valeska at the World Breeding Championships. Valeska is a Dutch Warmblood mare
by Krack C out of Polimbria and owned by DG Bar Ranch. Willy and Valeska qualified
for Verden while competing in California this past year. Of the thousands of
young horses in the U.S., only three U.S.-owned horses have qualified for the
World Breeding Championships and Matrix Vice President Keith Manfred said the
Matrix company is excited that two of those are Matrix horses.
"We think it's wonderful," he said. "And we wish Willy and
Valeska and Jennifer and Rubinio the best. We hope that not only are they successful
in Germany, but also that they have a great time at the World Breeding Championships
and a safe trip home to the U.S."
Produced by Golden Gourmet Mushrooms of San Marcos, California, the Matrix
is a special blend of organically-grown medicinal mushrooms that comes in formulas
for humans, small animals and horses. In addition to Willy Arts and Jennifer
Hoffmann, riders and trainers who have joined up with Team Matrix – as
the group of equestrian Matrix promoters are called – include dressage
couple Shannon and Steffen Peters; Jane Hannigan, who represented the U.S.
in the Dressage World Cup this spring; classical trainer and rider Bettina
Drummond, Carl Nafzger, trainer of Kentucky Derby winners Street Sense and
Unbridled; leading California show jumping rider Will Simpson and U.S. Equestrian
Federation Young Horse Coach Scott Hassler and his wife, Susanne. |
