Matrix Horse Rubinio Shines at 2008 World Championships for Young Dressage
Horses
Team Matrix member Jennifer Hoffmann and her Matrix horse Rubinio were the
highest-scoring American pair at the recent 2008 World Championships for Young
Dressage Horses, held in Verden, Germany, July 31 - August 3.
Three American-bred horses qualified for the World Championships – Rubinio,
Williams and Valeska DG. Williams was ridden by Katie Robicheaux and Valeska
was ridden by another Team Matrix member, Willy Arts. Valeska is a Dutch Warmblood
mare by Krack C out of Polimbria and owned by DG Bar Ranch.
Based in Carlsbad, California, Hoffmann and the Westfalian stallion Rubinio
competed in the 5-year old division, where they placed fifth in the consolation
finals. Every year, young horse owners and riders across the U.S. aim to qualify
for the World Championships, but only a few earn the qualifying scores needed
to make it to the Championships. Of the three U.S.-bred horses that qualified
this year, two are Matrix horses.
Matrix Vice President Keith Manfred said the Matrix is honored to have both
Arts and Hoffmann as members of Team Matrix.
"We'd like to congratulate both of them on a job well done at the World
Championships. Qualifying for the Championships is very difficult and it shows
just how talented are these two riders and their horses," he said.
